For our location in Hamburg we are looking for a
Manager (m/f/d) Cargo Stowage
Responsibilities and Tasks:The “Network Operations” team, analyses, supports and improves Hapag-Lloyd's global vessel operations centrally from Hamburg. Our multidisciplinary team continuously initiates and moves forward a great number of optimization projects. Every single one of our team members works at an interface – between teams, projects and departments, between expert knowledge and technical expertise, and, above all, at the interface that makes Hapag-Lloyd special since more than 170 years: between land and sea, between continents!
- Responsible to align vessel operation capacity with Regional Marine Ops, Trade Management, Network and Cooperations and Global Container Logistics, for the SSY the vessels are deployed in
- Periodic review of defined operational capacities based recent port rotation and cargo mix of deployed fleet and assessment of operational capacities for new fixtures
- Analyze operational data to identify service patterns to o Aid planners and improve stowage planning quality o Highlight and improve opportunities within the network and/or ship operations
- Facilitate decision making with regard to match of vessel characteristics with deployment, stowage and cargo handling requirements
- Review stowage plans, and provide feedback to stowage centers with aim to improve overall vessel utilization, productivity, stability reduce restow and optmise trim conditions
- Prepare KPIs for stowage/ cargo related topics/ projects
- Review and develop smart cargo engineering solutions for owned and chartered fleet to increase capacities
- Development of concepts for enhancement of various stowage planning tools to improve overall efficiency within the planning centers
- Review developing industry standards on digitalization and harmonize them within the planning tools
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years experiences in Liner Shipping
- Strong operations background, well versed with stowage planning, terminal performance and ship operations & procedures
- Good knowledge and proficient use of CAPSTAN and other stowage related software solutions
- Result-oriented, enthusiastic, pro-active and problem solving skills
- Good understanding of IT systems, experience in use of Qlikview, Tableau
- Effective communicator, fluent in English both verbal and written
- Positive attitude and to be able to work well under pressure
