We, the “Network Operations” team, analyse, support and improve Hapag-Lloyd's global vessel operations centrally from Hamburg. Our multidisciplinary team continuously initiates and moves forward a great number of data-driven optimization projects. In addition, we are the backbone of "Voyage Control", an initiative holistically monitoring our vessels from a round voyage perspective. Every single one of our team members works at an interface – between teams, projects and departments - between expert knowledge and technical expertise and, above all, at the interface that makes Hapag-Lloyd special since more than 170 years: between land and sea, between continents!
For our location in Hamburg we are looking for a
Data Analytics Manager (m/f/d) Network Operations
Responsibilities and Tasks:- Identify patterns, improvement potentials and disturbances in our service network or in the handling of the vessel in and around the port as well as on the sea leg by taking a variety of operational data sources into account
- Contribute to the preparation and provision of decision-critical data as well as the acquisition of new insights by compiling meaningful data
- Develop ideas and concepts independently and in teamwork with the objective to improve network and terminal performance
- Communicate optimization potential and necessary adjustments to relevant departments and support them with ad hoc analyzes in the area of decision-making
- Organize and moderate regular calls to discuss challenges based on operational data and keep track of identified improvement potentials and its implementation
- Become part of company-wide projects aiming at improving on time performance of vessels in our network and contribute with your analytical and conceptual skills
Requirements and Qualifications:
- You hold an university degree ideally focusing on logistics, business administration, industrial engineering or a business apprenticeship
- You have good knowledge of ship, terminal and / or marine operations
- You like to work analytically and you are interested in combining data with operational processes
- Next to very good skills in Excel and PowerPoint, you are interested in advancing your knowledge of BI tools such as QlikView, QlikSense and Tableau
- You communicate in a sovereign and convincing manner, also fluently in written and spoken English and have the capability to mediate between parties
- You have a positive charisma, like to work proactively, have a strategic understanding and the ability to put topics into the overall context
