Senior Coordinator Ports and Terminal Operations (m/f)
Responsibilities and Tasks:Purpose: (General concise description of the purpose/role of this position)
This role is responsible for overseeing the operations of vessels in the region. PTO is also the liaison between Hapag-Lloyd , 3rd party agents and the terminals in the region. PTO is responsible for all work orders relating to Port and terminal costs. PTO delivers the latest vessel information to the organisation.
Key Accountabilities: (List/Describe Tasks and Responsibilities - Describe the overall impact of these tasks)
- Maintaining vessel schedules daily
- Working with our 3rd party agency network, Co-ordinate and arrange necessary documentation for Hapag-Lloyd vessels calling at ports in our area
- POE for any operational dealings with the terminals
- Local liaison between Hapag-Lloyd and SLOT/VSA partners, general communication, conflict resolution, documentation & TBU’s
- Capturing and verification for all port related expenses via work orders in FIS input by QSC
- OOG local experts for costing and port restrictions / Regulations
- DG local experts for costing and port restrictions / Regulations
- Reconciliation of load & discharge via FIS and terminal systems
- Specialists in Port procedures and adhoc problem solving for all port & terminal related matters
Requirements and Qualifications:
Critical Qualifications / Skills / Experience
Technical Competencies: (List the qualifications/experience necessary to perform the requirements of the position)
- Good understanding of Microsoft applications
- Thorough knowledge of port based applications (Navis, ICUMMS etc.) and documentation procedures
- Ability to work on several systems simultaneously and interpret the data
Core Competencies: (List all skills necessary to perform the requirements of the position)
- At least 1 years experience in the Port and Terminals field
- Ability to work under pressure and excellent time management are key traits
- Good general knowledge of Ports / terminal infrastructure, procedures and tariffs
- Willingness to attend to emergencies outside of usual working hours
- Able to assess and make a informed decision to resolve operational issues under pressure
- Will need to be able to communicate internally and externally with people of all levels
