AWS Data Engineer - Knowledge Centre
Responsibilities and Tasks:We aim to build big data analytics platform for global shipping company - Hapag-Lloyd AG. In Gdańsk we established a Knowledge Center. Within it - Data Management Solutions for Analytics (DMSA). A group of top IT experts, designers and executors, will apply AWS cloud technology in maritime and shipping industry. We are quality-driven, have passion for cloud (especially AWS), analytics and power of positive changes, technology solutions bring to business globally.
AWS Data Engineer will work closely with data analysts, data engineers, data scientists and other stakeholders to design and maintain data models.
Experience and responsibilities:
- Developing and executing data pipelines in Data Lake analytics platform to provide accurate and timely data
- Ability to advise stakeholders on detailed technology and development practice & estimates
- Ability to make effective decisions within fast-moving Agile delivery and to lead on troubleshooting
- Strong understanding of tools, design methodologies and best practices
- Ability to clearly communicate technical design both written and verbally
- Ability to collaborate with other data engineers using version control tools (e.g. Git)
- Experience in continuous integration tools and techniques (e.g. Jenkins, AWS CodeBuild, AWS CodeDeploy)
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Creative approach in building data processing flows
- AWS Cloud (S3, Glue, Athena, Lambda, EC2, IAM)
- Programming languages (Python and/or Scala)
- Data processing (streaming, ETL; Apache Spark, AWS Kinesis or Apache Kafka, Parquet/Avro/Orc)
- Relational databases (AWS stack and/or DB2/Oracle/MySQL/PostgreSQL/MS SQL)
- Supporting tools (JIRA, GIT, Confluence, CI/CD)
Nice to have:
- Data presentation (QlikSense/QlikView, Tableau, others)
- Data processing (Qlik Replicate, Databricks, Alteryx, AWS Step functions/Apache AirFlow, SNS, SQS, EMR)
